Gry Hasselbalch reviews and screens information society projects, business ideas and research initiatives’ social and ethical impact based on humanist and social science expert knowledge. This includes:
- Identifying general ethical and social impact potential issues. E.g. adherence to research ethics and principles.
- Detailing how the project can address ethical and social issues in sufficient detail
- Providing a social impact analyses. E.g. how does a project benefit society and meet societal needs? Does it have any negative impacts on society? On specific groups of people?
- Screening of potential data ethical issues
Reviews can be conducted in cooperation with sociology professor Francesco Lapenta.
The approach is among others based on Gry’s experience as independent ethics expert reviewer for the European Commission Horizon2020 and ERC applications.
